The 2016-2017 school year is off to a great start! My amazing kinders are learning how to do centers and are doing a fabulous job! I am so happy with how well they all did this week!

Here students are working on counting and pattern puzzles and unified cubes.
Students had fun at the creativity center and at the the writing center!
These girls are enjoying the ABC and Science and Engineering centers!
On Friday we had a friendship day! We had a special friendship snack, friendship show and tell and a fun friendship toothpaste activity. I used the toothpaste activity to talk about how unkind words and actions are hard to take back and can hurt others. Each student got a chance to squeeze some toothpaste out of their tube. Then I asked the students to see if they could put it back into the tubes. Some tables did a good getting some back into the tubes and others had a hard time, depending on how much they squeezed out. This was a great example for how words and actions can sometimes just come out, but are hard to take back. We talked about how we are friends and we do not want to say or do things that will hurt anyone. The class then came up with ways to help others if this happens (saying sorry, helping others and being kind). I love this activity because it really helps my little kinders understand how their actions and words can affect others!
